Love Local Collective Spring 2021 Relaunch
Benefits Now Include Delivery & Subscriptions
Central Kitchen is preparing to relaunch its year-old nonprofit Love Local Collective program with a new, improved website including delivery and subscriptions. The site is powered by a local software company called Farm Fare. It’s robust inventory and ordering system will allow shoppers to purchase curated food bundles and add on items as well as subscribe for recurring bundles. Produce and products will continue to range from fruits and veggies to dairy and value-added products. And now bundles can be delivered straight to your home!
In March 2020, Central Kitchen teamed up with Northeast Ohio family farmers to give shoppers quick, easy and safe access to fresh, local foods through the Love Local Collective program. Beyond filling customers’ fridges with healthy produce, meats and more, purchases have helped small farmers survive uncertain times through this online farmers market.
“At the onset of the pandemic, we saw farmers struggling and people were scared to go to the grocery store. We had an opportunity in our existing Central Kitchen framework to connect farmers who had lost their market due to COVID with the general public. Love Local offers a convenient and safe shopping option and customers love the freshness and variety—many even depend on it as their primary source of food.” Says David Miller, director of development at Central Kitchen and Love Local Collective co-founder.
Love Local Collective provides access to flavorful, locally grown and in-season foods that you can’t find in many grocery stores. The convenient pickup and delivery options lessen trips to crowded stores and maintain safe social distance. You can feel good about supporting your local small farmers and craft food entrepreneurs. LLC orders help local farmers and producers sell fresh foods that they’ve grown, raised or made. This helps stabilize our local food landscape and regional economy as well as curbs food waste by shopping in season.
